At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks
If you've ever read a Nicholas Sparks book, you pretty much know what to expect. This book was no different. A very quick read, not much action, but it's full of truth.
I'll admit, I've read most of Sparks' novels. Maybe he's a guilty pleasure, maybe not so guilty. I just think he writes really simple, honest and heartwarming love stories and sometimes that's just what you need. This one does not disappoint.
What makes this one special is his description of the early days of a marriage; the adjustments that people have to make when learning about the other person and how to live together. It was cute and it made me smile. And then it made me cry. (Not an easy feat; I'm not one of those sensitive girls that cry over Hallmark commercials.) I would recommend this one.
It's actually a sequel to his book True Believer, which I thought was just mediocre. I didn't like that one nearly as much as his other novels and would probably say it's his worst. Still, it's not terrible, and I would ...more
