2-23-2008: Just started reading this book. I had heard Junot Diaz read one of his short stories on the New Yorker Fiction podcast, and loved his (literary) voice. This book is proving to be good so far. I'm already feeling empathy for Oscar. I am also going back and forth to the computer to translate different Dominican words.
2-25-2008: LOVING this book! I love how Diaz weaves all these sci-fi references into this Dominican family story. A really exceptional book so far - breaks genre completely.
3/1/2008: Finished the book this morning. An incredible read. This book was up there with White Teeth, which is one of my all time favorites.
