it was amazing
Read from April 13 to 15, 2010

I personally think this book should be required reading in all schools and universities--it's not hard SF, and it reads like Of Mice and Men or Flowers for Algernon. Five stars--I wish I could give more.

I have never met anyone autistic, and the closest I've ever been able to come to it is a friend or two who have Asperger's Syndrome, sometimes called high-functioning autism. Elizabeth Moon's portrayal of Lou is the first time I've actually been asked to place myself in the position of someone with autism, and now that I've finished the book I find I feel like Tom--I want to help them, and seeing people try to take advantage of them makes me truly unhappy (and mad).
