I just started reading the Children's Classics this year, I seem to recall reading this story some time in my past; for it seemed familiar. There are many ideas for the themes or motifs running through the story; facets and layers of meanings hidden in there.
Frances Burnett, had a lot of things within her own life story, to feed her stories with. I love her writing, and have learned her voice and begun to tap into her ideologies that come through her writing.
Sara Crewe, though spoiled and pampered, did not ever seem to show any rotten streaks; which may be thought odd--its a beautiful story of character and purpose out of suffering.
