Read from April 12 to 22, 2010 — I own a copy

This is a powerful story to read. The virus bombing on Isstvan was particularly hard to read, but it really brought to light just how devastating a betrayal it was.

In the end I found myself comparing the fall of Horus to the fall of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars. The Horus Heresy really shows how important the story structure is. The authors were really able to focus on what was important rather than spending time superfluously telling the wrong things and then rushing the important stuff.

These first 3 books really make a very engaging and stellar story and one I would highly recommend.
