This book is more troubling than the first, mainly because so many of the characters are sexist, homophobes, or just plain mean. If you can get through the middle bit (with all the really irritating characters), the plot has some nice twists. I'd rate it 3.5 if it was possible to give it half a star. But, I don't think it is as readable as the first book -- too disturbing.
