it was amazing
bookshelves: children-s-books, bedtime-stories, humorous

This story stirs many childhood memories and is a favorite I still keep on my bookshelf. Amelia is a maid who can never get it right and her hilarious mishaps make for a great read for children. She takes everything literal on her "to do" list and if she needs to dry clothes, she actual sets them outside to dry. I love how silly this story is and I wonder about the actual Amelia Bedelias out there who do take everything as literal as she does. It is okay though because she makes it all better and makes the family of the house content again with some delicious lemon-meringue pie. This book is ideal to share with beginning readers, ideally grades 1st and 2nd and possibly for lower level 3rd graders. This book uses simple language and in my opinion is simply a comedic classic!
