New college graduate Billy, who has just got a job as a lexicographer at America's oldest dictionary company, seems like another slacker. His co-worker Mona seems like another rich girl, who went to the local, exclusive women's college. Mona finds a strange citation in the massive files of word usage, and enlists Billy to help her find out why someone put a link to a nonexistent book into the system. As Mona and Billy find more of these citations building into the story of a crime--a crime that seems to take place in their office--they also begin to learn interesting things about each other--and themselves. A tour de force, and not-to-be-missed debut.
