I remember hearing this story as a child, and was thrilled to find it again working as a Children's librarian. It is an enchanting holiday tale of doing more with less. The illustrations are done in an old, Victorian style, so it feels like an old-timey Christmas classic. Highly recommended for under your tree. It tuggs at the heart-strings just enough.

Angela I loved this book as a child, too! There was an old copy of my mother's at my grandparent's house and I would read it whenever I visited them.

I was fascinated by the concept of everyone finding something that fit just right for them!
