Well, the second half of this book was certainly went a lot faster than the first. I think this was because an element of action and interesting events started to be woven into the plot.
Unfortunately for me the damage was already done. I felt like Sam was a very blatant cliche of emo-kid. I liked the stories of when he was a kid with Beck... and I liked Beck, but Sam as a romantic lead really didn't work for me.
Grace didn't work for me either as a character. Her lack of concern for her best friends really annoyed me and I found her personality a little bland.
I like Isobelle as a character, and Shelby as they both seem to have more diverse emotions and personalities. So the book does have some saving graces, but overall I'd say it's just too much of a romance for me with not enough elements for me to identify with, and not written in an engaging enough language for me to be otherwise one over.
It is... as the second star indicates... ok.

Georgina I loved this book. The writing is a little on the flowery side, which I'm not usually a big fan of but I couldn't help falling in love with the story. I'm really looking forward to the second book in the trilogy, Linger.

Lauren I just bought it online. Yay for Borders... no shipping costs! I'm going to be eagerly running to the mailbox every day until it arrives.

Georgina May I also suggest get all my books from there. Quite often cheaper than you can get in Oz, and often titles that aren't available in Oz. Free shipping from the UK too!

Lauren awesome... hehe. my husband just gave you a dirty look via the world wide web ;)

Georgina I'm sure it's nothing my husband hasn't thrown my way in the past :)
