Backflash by Richard Stark
Continuing my crime/noir journey. This is a more recent book, however Stark/Westlake's writing seems to be timeless. With the exception of scant references to various cars and technology, you'd have no idea when the story takes place. Still, it moves quickly and is quite enjoyable. Clever characters, cleverly written. Oh, yeah, I should probably mention this is a Parker book. So if you're familiar with his stories, you know how it goes, but it's not AS predictable. It can be formulaic, but the formula works.
