This book took me FOREVER to read. I had to give it second & third tries, after I initially picked it up. I was so excited to read it, but it turned out to be hard going. His humor is not smoothly incorporated into the narrative, nor are the unnecessarily graphic fight descriptions. I love him on House, and I hear he was funny on his other shows. This book improved as I went further on. It just was not anywhere near as good as I thought it would be. I won't reread the book--thank God I didn't buy it.

then again, the book did yield one of my new favorite quotes:
"Because, what does it mean, to say that things aren't going well? Compared to what? You can say: compared to how things were going a couple of hours ago, or a couple of years ago. But that's not the point. If two cars are speeding towards a brick wall with no brakes, and one car hits the wall moments before the other, you can't spend those moments saying that the second car is much better off than the first.
