Read from June 21 to September 11, 2011 — I own a copy

A very long book. It was quite good, but you almost needed a readers guide or a thorough knowledge of India--there were MANY words I didn't know--names of articles of clothing etc. It would have been nice if there had been a glossary of some sort at the back.

Also, while the family trees for the 4 main families, at the front of the book, was helpful I felt I needed more. I had to go on the internet and download a list of names of the other 50 + minor characters, and had to make notes and refer to them. There was alot to keep track of. I would have liked it much better had there been this sort of reference material.

this book was quite a challenge, and I am proud of the fact that I finished it, but I don't know that I would recommend it to very many people. It is a difficult read.

Margaret Hey good for you! I loved it and am waiting for a suitable girl to be released in 2012 or 2013 i think!

Catherine It is a little daunting to even pick up a book this big! Wish I could reed as fast as you do. I think this one will take me a couple of months at least. I am 250 pages into it and am enjoying it, but I wish they had some sort of a glossary for some of the Indian words and names of clothing etc. Miss you.

Margaret I don't recall how long it took me, but i figure one big good book is as good as 3-4 smaller good books, I miss you...
i'm now reading WOLF HALL. takes place in 1500's England henry the 8th etc, i ignored it for a long time, because......another book about henry the 8th? well it is much more than that. interesting, enjoyable...i'm on page 80. so will see if it stays this good! One more week here in Fargo. I love it here and hope they need me again soon. such nice people!
