This is definitely a captivating book. I did not even get up for the last 150 pages. I really loved the story, but didn't love the choice of characters. I think they were developed really well, except that everyone was followed through the book other than Yule May, who was only followed in the beginning. I felt for each of the characters throughout the entire book, and they were likable. I thought Minny and Aibileen were different enough to provide contrast, but I would have like to hear more about Louvenia or another maid who had a positive experience-I think it would have made the book richer. Instead we just heard snippets of their stories. I also didn't really understand why Skeeter's mom had to be so sick throughout the book, and then why she needed to get better - I'm not sure what that brought to the story. But overall, it was a terrific story, easy to read, and it made me feel something, which I love.
