There are some books that call to you and this was one of them for me. I first noticed Green Witch by Alice Hoffman at Vromans and realized it was a sequel to the book Green Angel. Something about the book/story piqued my interest and I bought it. It then sat in a pile of books to be read and I kept moving it around. It was like the book was silently calling me to read it. I kept thinking about how many other books had to be read and tried to ignore it. Finally the call of the book won out and I picked it up and read it.
I am so glad that I found this book and so glad that I read it. What an amazing story of heartbreak, loss, and sorrow and the ability to heal from it. Hoffman's writing is haunting and filled with something deep and true. Green's transformation from anger and sadness to hope and life is beautifully told. Now I need to go find the sequel.
