After reading Hunger Games I was so excited to read Catching Fire! I fell in love with Katniss and Peeta in the first book and couldn't wait to see what was to happen with them....

This second book isn't nearly as good as the first book in my opinion! It is still a good read and a pretty good book, but I have to admit that it didn't hold my attention nearly as much as the first did. The first part of the book was really good. Katniss is dealing with her feelings for Peeta and Gale and figuring them out. Then they find out they have to be in this year's Hunger Games...this is when the book lost it's appeal to me! The Games were still interesting, but by the time they were competing in the games again I was ready to be finished with the book. I think I would have enjoyed it more maybe if one of them would have been put in the games and the other one watched...or maybe if they would have been the mentors this time like Haymitch was to them...it just felt like book one repeated itself a little to me.

I missed Katniss and Peeta's interaction as a "couple" in this book. Of course there was some interaction, but I was left wanting more...

The ending of this book has a great little twist to it, but at the same time was so annoying to me! In the first book you get some closure, but in this one it just completly leaves you hanging...I hate that!

This was a good book and I will read the 3rd book for sure, but I was hoping for more I guess...

Lauren I was always on team Peeta too! I picture him as a young Brad Pitt-cute with blonde hair and very sweet but brave and strong when he needs to be! I'm glad you are reading them too. Quick easy reads and very different from other books. I just went through your "to reads" and added some of them to mine. Great pics!

love ya

January I am glad I choose to read these also! I am enjoying them! She doesn't really let us get to know Gale that much (as of yet anyway) and Peeta seems like he really cares for her a lot!

I am going to wait on you to catch up before I finish the Outlander series...I may not be able to contain myself and spoil the ending if I don't! LOL!
