This was just okay for me. I felt it was depressing, how disconnected all the women were from each other and I didn't like that it really didn't get much better during or after their trip. I wanted them all to reconcile and be one big happy family!

I had a hard time with the writing. The storyline jumped around among all six of the women and there could be paragraphs without mentioning a name which caused me to not know who was doing the "thinking". There were also many flashbacks but again, they weren't distinguished. I found myself wondering if I was reading the past or the present at it jumped back and forth within the same chapter.

I'm not quite sure what the point was of the "lost son" story line. It wasn't resolved and only the granddaughters found out about it. There didn't seem to be any resolution of any sort for ANY of the story lines by the end of the book.

I guess I was looking for a happy ending, but there wasn't one.
