Roughing It (Enriched Classics) by Mark Twain
So I'm currently in the middle of reading this and I've been lugging it around the country even though it weighs a ton. And then the other day I'm on a flight, sitting next to a middle-aged woman, and I look over and see that she's reading it as well. So I tell her I'm also reading it and we get to talking. I eventually mention that I'm working on getting my PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago. She responds by saying "That's funny, because I've got a PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago." No shit. I kid you not.
What's she doing now?
Computers. She said she tried the job market, didn't get any offers the first year, and didn't want to take temporary or adjunct work.

"Fuck. Me too. I always need to be held when I'm flying."

INT. - SIMPLE DOCTOR'S OFFICE IN ALEXANDRIA, VA.(Zed shuts the door gingerly)
-Doctor, I've been meeting all these strangers lately who...
-Yes, Zed?
-Who aren't very strange. And they seem to be privy...to everything but mi'scivvys.
-Where have you been meeting these women?
-No, you're not listening, doc...
(the books on the doctor's shelf, many of the discussed here on gooodreads, start to violently jump around, as does everything in the office, as an earthquake is occurring. The lights go out and hell is induced.)
