it was amazing

I absolutely loved this book. I thought the main character was strong, engaging, and realistic. The world Marr created wasn't shallow, uncomplicated, or naively innocent -- the characters touch on the subjects of rape, sex, drug use, and other modern issues for teens.

I liked the writer's style, and she was able to create three dimensional characters that I couldn't help but love. The supporting characters were amazing as well with Donia and Seth being my favorite, and even the antagonist had a reason beyond being evil for doing what she does.

Honestly, this seemed like a fairy tale if placed in today's world, and it was beautiful as well as occasionally terrible. I think the people that didn't enjoy this book probably expected something a little sweeter and less realistic to modern society, particularly for teens. But I can say I enjoyed it without reservation.

A great read.
