Read in April, 2010

Descriptions of the author's travels to observatories and astronomical projects in California, Minnesota, Lake Baikal in Siberia, and Atacama Desert were interesting - gave a sense of the beauty and/or peacefulness of these isolated areas. The author has an engaging way of describing the personalities of the astronomers working on these projects. I had less interest in the theoretical science explanations and skimmed those sections.
