This was an excellent story, harrowing but powerful - and I forgot to journal or blog it when I read it back in 2009! I borrowed it as an audio book and fortunately I can access my library record online to find out what date I borrowed it and who the narrator was: Julian Rhind-Tutt.
It was only a short story, 4 CDs long, I think, and it kept my attention throughout. As a book, it would be unputdownable, no wonder it's on the list of 1001 Books You Must Read.
It's difficult to write a review without giving the story away, so suffice to say that it explores the way some children deal with a shocking event so that they can stay together.
