really liked it
bookshelves: animals, gender
Recommended to Shira and Ari by: it was mentioned in "the sexual politics of meat"
Recommended for: animal rights folks, feminists, people who eat animals, people who use women
Read in March, 2010 , read count: 1

This book is very feminist and very animal rightsy, but it ends with a sadly jaded note, offering no real solutions, only a new clarity about oppression (both internalized and coming from external sources).

Beautifully written, of course, and full of entertaining three-dimensional characters.
