This is another one of those over-hyped books that I was set on avoiding. However, I love films, and wanted to watch the Twilight ones. So then I find myself battling with my own rules, 'don't read over-hyped books', 'I mustn’t watch a film before I've read the book,' 'don't read over-hyped books', 'I mustn’t watch a film before I've read the book.' This battle went on for a while when finally, during one of my regular Amazon hunts I found that the Twilight books were dirt cheap, I also had a friend reading them at the time who couldn't put them down and also wouldn't stop nagging. So I gave in! You win 'Twilight,' you win! And you know what, I loved it!!

I won't bore you too much with the story line as I'm pretty sure it's impossible not to know it. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, shit he's a vampire, but he's so sexy I can't help it, she gets in trouble, he saves her, hooray!! That really is the entire book! But who cares!! Yes it does takes 300 of the 400 pages for any real action to happen, but you know what, I could have kept on reading about Bella and Edward falling in love for hundreds more. And I'm not a sappy teenager, I'm 25 years old, I really should know better, but their blossoming romance was just so lovely to read. I couldn't put this book down, and that is something that rarely happens these days. I've already got 'New Moon' out ready to go. Yes Meyer's writing isn't great, yes the plot is somewhat lacking, yes there are flaws in the story, but who cares!? Any book that engrosses me this much means she must be doing something right. To quote a fellow book loving friend ~ 'I am starting to think that the author personally sprinkles cocaine on the pages of her books so that you continue to come back for more.'
