This book is science fiction, written by nancy werlin
Eli Samuels is a bright senior student, saluditorian in his class. But he isn't going to college next year. He wants to take a year off. He and his father have been fighting a lot lately. College is one more thing to argue about. Eli wants to earn the money for school. His dad and him have had money issues ever since their mother got sick, and was checked into a mental hospital. She is in a nursing home, dying of Huntington's Disease.

Eli gets a new job that pays well at a science labratory. Dr. Quincy Wyatt has taken interest in him(a leading scientist in the world of genetics). Eli is excited to be working with Dr. Wyatt, who is such a big mentor for him, more than his father. But his father is angry. There is some secret in Eli's family's past. Dr. Wyatt, Mr. Samuels, and Mrs. Samuels had connections when the couple were in graduate school.

Eli slowly distroy connections with family members and friends, including his girlfriend, Viv. He won't inflict the possibility of Huntington's Disease on anyone else. The story gets more and more exciting as it leads up to Eli finding out that Dr. Wyatt has been illegally making perfect clones. In the end Eli is closer with his father and girlfriend, but ends up loosing his mother to HD. I gave this book 4 stars because of the science part of it. I felt like a was not only getting a good read out of it, but also learning some small, new things about genetics. Which made me want to keep reading.
