audiobook. I love history, and this was history as story at it's best. But it is long enough that I probably wouldn't have stuck with it if I were reading it rather than listening to it. It totally brought home the tragedy of Lincoln's assassination, as his strengths and wisdom (and extremely unlikely rise) were brought out throughout. He had such emotional and political wisdom that he could hold together a fractious cabinet of the best men, who didn't particularly like each other, but all eventually came to love him.
