The IRC chatting is poison. I learnt from my friend about alternative history book concerning Napoleonic Wars. I had no idea how it would work with all those dragons, but I gave a try. I was surprised how good the book was. Author set up the world in war crowded with dragons and various issues concerning them. The plot is very catching and characters are developing steadily. Capt. Will Laurence went trough 180 degree flip flop as he was chosen by hatchiling Temeraire to be his rider at the first book. The trouble was that Temaraire was literaly prize of war,but how his egg was captured became diplomatic incident between England and China. Laurence was transported with his crew and very courious dragon to China. He learnt many important lesons there and he found out that dragon culture is something completly different from what he knew. The question was which nation was a barbarian and racist and who was educated and openminded lingerend trough the whole book.
