Not sure that I have a long winded review in me for this one. Not that it doesn't deserve one, just that I'm not feeling long winded at the moment.

It was a great book. Tugs on the heartstrings quite a bit. Death of a beloved pet, a police investigation involving a serial killer targeting children, and a lot of couple and family drama, including one of the principals still being in love with a ghost from his past. Get out the tissue box.

Like most of the Z.A. Maxfield books I've read, the main characters are very three dimensional, very real. The plot is substantial and the sex scenes don't feel forced. Lust may proceed the relationship, but a relationship of sorts proceeds actual sex.

I did catch on to who the serial killer was before the protagonists. But I guess Kevin's physical reaction to his latest realization had them both a bit off balance.

Great story. Love the coup de grace at the end. Although, I was waiting for that final stroke from the moment the police case was solved.

Highly Recommended.
