OK, Vlad's growing on me...I see him maturing here...and Joss too. They can see beyond the end of their own noses and finally realize there's more at stake than they thought. Since I always cheat and read the ending, usually in the bookstore, I knew the cliffhanger ending, and am deep into 12th grade right now.

Is it ok to say I really don't like Eddie Poe? BUT I DO love Brewer's sly references to classic horror -- Eddie's name being one homage.

I'm getting tired of the bullies who continue to dog Vlad -- I hope they'll get their come-uppance in the last one...Probably my current favorite.

Elaine Warner I started this last night also. Couldn't find a copy before the break.

Claudia Teehee...I already know how it ends--glad I have 12th grade ready!

Kathy Manus I thought you had read this series over the summer. I just finished them. The 11th and 12th grade books were my favorite. I'm interested to see if you think Brewer left it open for a 6th book. I think so....

Claudia I stopped this one and moved on...but I have several kids who've blazed through them and have been MOST insistent! :) I DO like it, and I know the twist at the end...
