Better then I figured it would be. I liked Lily Yu, it was nice to have a female lead that wasn't the typical caucasian female that seems to be the general route authors go. When Rule was first metioned I was thinking this guy is sleazy, but the more you get to know him the more you warm up to him as a character. Finding out about his son really added a softer side to Rule that was charming. I couldn't stop reading from start to finish, looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
