This book is really sad. When i read it, it really touched me about how there are some girls out there in the world that have to go through living in a bad enviorment their whole life. Like their mothers beating them, getting raped by their own fathers or step-fathers. Sapphire was really brave when she was younger. And she tried her best to do well.
I also loved how she ended the book. Or really how her life ended up. The book made me realise i should enjoy my life well, and not be stressed like she was when she was younger in the book. She was insulted by her mom, raped by her dad, suspended many times from school from being pregnant, had HIV from being raped, beaten by her mom,(she was over weight too). And her mom hated her because she didnt protest or say anything when she was getting raped by her dad and her mom just sat there and watched. The mother was jealous that the dad wanted her instead if her mother, so thats why shes always treating her bad beating her throwing glasses at her, making her cook her meals... ect...
you sould read it its good. But, its kind of not for children a little bit.. but my mom said it was okay sooo.. yea! its good you should read it!
