Mitch's review
Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin
This was a great book and I am hooked on Helprin. I have to say that I actually liked Refiners Fire a little bit better but one of the great surprises for me was how different the two books were. I would love to just go on a reading spree and read everything Helprin has ever written, but sadly there aren't too many there yet and I want to save some for later. Again, this book is beautifully written and weaves in the fantastic much like an urban version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The story is great, always left me curious and wondering, and I couldn't wait to see how things turned out. I wish the book just kept on going ...
