it was amazing
bookshelves: dystopia, sci-fi
Read from March 21 to April 01, 2010

The five-star rating is mostly because it was (and still is) so utterly different from every other science fiction novel in existence. Gibson's prose is sometimes a little disorienting, but that's by design--the world he's created is complex and confusing, but also fascinating, and he allows the reader to experience it through the eyes of a "cowboy", a professional hacker with the ability to directly enter cyberspace in order to communicate with computer programs and constructs that have developed a consciousness independent of human beings.
