I am not a gourmet of fiction. But I liked this book. It was all the more fun since it is set in my neck of the woods. It got me thinking about a few important questions about ownership and individual agency. I don't don't whether to attribute that to my philosophical bent or to the quality of the novel. But I'm not going to call it "escapist fiction", though that's how I used it. Wanderer (the first person protagonist) was a fully developed character. Melanie (the Host) less so.
