I don't know, this book was just bizarre to me. It tells the story of a little girl whose manners are under scrutiny thanks to Emily Post's book. She's weirdly visited by the ghosts of Emily Post's past (but that transition is awkward and bizarre) and winds up using her mother's precious book of manners against her (I appreciated the child's smarts, but it was uncomfortable. She's not a very likeable main character). In the end, the mother sends Emily Post + ghosts packing, much to the relief of all the children. The end pages include some information about the real Emily Post. For some reason, I just couldn't get into this book. The little girl was exactly the kind of indignant child who I'd want to slap, which may be why I just wasn't feeling it.
