recommended for: no one
even for an emergency airport read, this was not worth the time; hardly 'intriguing' or 'evocative' or any of those promising adjectives used by the critics. i was hoping for, at minimum, a portrait of the world's most interesting city, but got only a superficial disjointed one-sided scappy history.
