Read in April, 2010 — I own a copy, read count: 1

This book was great, except for the last story Taras Bulba. The last story's main character was war-mongering and I did not really enjoy all of the violent scenes. Other than that, the stories are very enjoyable. I appreciate Gogol's sense of humor and his attempt to give the oppressed in his society a voice. It is a book well worth reading.

India This book is hilarious. It is full of crazy scenarios, someone referred to it as theater of the absurd sort of humor. It kind of has a Seinfeldesque type of feel to me.
