The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader" takes the series in a new and fresh direction. This was a smart thing for Lewis to do. He maintains his voice and carries enough characters to keep some continuity with the series, but he does not attempt to rewrite The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

I found the story to be engaging. I was interested to see an expansion of the world of Narnia. This book also contains one of my many favorite lines from Lewis: "There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it."
