I've realized that I love Ramona. While I didn't like this one as much as Ramona the Pest and Ramona and Her Father, I still thoroughly enjoyed this one. Cleary again really captures what it is like to be a child. The reader sees how Ramona's childish and even bratty actions are motivated by touching emotions. I even teared up when she confronted her parents after Parents' Night.

Natalie continued to enjoy Ramona. It was almost a year between the first and second book, so I'm not sure if she remembers the first one at all. Now that she is in Kindergarten, she could understand a lot about school. I decided to read this one to her now because of her mentioning someone copying her work at school. While sometimes its hard to tell if Natalie is really paying attention while I'm reading, she showed me does through pretending to make a hole in the wall of her Lego castle to make an addition and by being afraid of the gorilla.

First read March 2010
Second read October 2014 aloud to Natalie
