Lincoln Rhymes is a former forensic expert paralysed on the job and forced into retirement. He is persuaded to help on a new case using Amelia,a young police officer as his eyes and ears. But this killer is different-he leaves a clue beside the first dead body which hints at where the next victim is trapped alive, giving the police a chance to save each one.Lincoln will need all his skill to solve the clues to save the victims.
What a great book!I loved Lincoln and his snippy relationship with helper and friends alike which gave him real depth of character. He is grumpy, rude, impatient as well as being brilliant and he is a wonderful all round character. The supporting cast are also well written, the book is fast paced and intense, and I enjoyed seeing how the clues were solved.I hate crime novels but I thought that this was something special and I went straight on to book 2!
