This book, at least the edition I read, was ridiculously long. At first it is quaint how they land on the island and set up their little house. Then it just gets silly. The island has every animal on earth, and they are able to domesticate all of them. Also, the island has every fruit and vegetable and tree on earth, and the father conveniently knows how to make/do/fix anything. They could have cut this book down to about a tenth of the size. So glad I'm finally finished with it.
