This book, in comparison to other Star Wars books, actually some decent character development. All of the fight scenes are in starfighters, so they can get a bit repeatative but I'm a fan of star fights. Stackpole has carved out a nice little niche in the Star Wars universe that his characters can play in, yet not interfer with the characters from the movies. Again, this book shows that the earlier Star Wars novels are better then most of the current ones being written.
