The first essays were hard for me to appreciate. However, after an uneven start things really pick up and, in general, it's a great read. His writing style is sharp and he often had me laughing out loud. I particularly liked the essays about his father. He obviously has a lot of appreciation for his father's eccentricities and those stories were witty and warm-hearted.

To be honest, I have to admit I laughed the hardest at "Big Boy". I'm really afraid this says something about my level of maturity, but it had me in tears.

In short, I recommend it.
