I was not too sure how I would like it with the time frame that the novel took place in but it was pleasantly surprising. This book falls under a romance, but it didn't really read as one. Yes the heroine fell in love, but the scenes with Sebastian were hotter than the ones with Phillip, her supposed love. I do want to read the next novel in this series. I hope that Sebastian is in it again. I think he will be. I was a little sad that Phillip didn't make it; however, it was kinda nice to come into a story at the begining when Victoria, made her inoccent mistakes. Most times you come into a story when all this stuff already happened and you get to see the aftermath how how she was changed. Now I get to see her development. I am kinda excited to see how this plays out. As a Historical Paranormal Romance, it was good historical paranormal novel, not so much on the romance part, but that is probably why I liked this book that much more.
