bookshelves: horror, favorites, sff-fantasy
Read in October, 1986

I was forced to read this book in a freshman lit class. Of course I already knew all about Dracula. He was a bat, he bit people, he was scared of garlic...blah, blah, blah... Who needed to read the story, right? Wrong.

First discussion they started talking about Jonathan Harker and his preciseness and the symbolism of the train schedules and I thought to myself 'Ruh-roh, I better read this story so that I can contribute to the discussion.'

Well, several hours later, I was floored. What a groovy book! Mina is a true heroine who kicks major ass and I liked the pacing of the story as the tension mounts toward the climax and how they relentlessly pursued ol' Drac to shut him down!

Fun read.
