bookshelves: science-fiction

This is probably my favorite science fiction book. I'm not sure if it's because the main characters are children, or if it's just one of the first sci fi books I ever picked up. Either way, the plot is great, the characters are convincingly naive and complicated, and just enough is given away at a time to keep you turning the pages. This is definitely the best in the series. It can be read independently of the rest, and still be an enjoyable, fulfilling read.

Orson Scott Card
“In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it’s impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves. And then, in that very moment when I love them.... I destroy them.”
