I've never been a Nora Roberts fan, but after hearing friends and family sing her praises I decided to give her another try. I'd originally picked up this book for my mum (who's a major fan) and while skimming over the first few pages, found that I was hooked. Yes, even the young Cooper Sullivan held a certain charm. I practically devoured this book in between cramming for tests and researching assignments, but it was worth it. I found this book to be alight, relaxing read that had me grinning stupidly at Farleys' old school charm and Sam's wit. I especially loved Roberts' strong, independent and courageous female characters who bore a marked difference from those portrayed by other authors in the genre. An altogether enjoyable read!
