As in other Lois Ehlert books, the pictures in this story are attention grabbing. This is a story of a much loved tree and the journey that the tree has taken from a seed falling to the ground, to the garden nursery to a home. The reader gets to see how the tree grows along its journey and can feel how much love is felt for the tree. I love that the book not only provides the journey of the tree, but also gives the reader lots of information for selecting, planting and taking care of their own tree. I also love the pictures that show real branches and bird seed among the differents cuts of paper that make up each scene.
Possible uses: Vermont seasons, Nature & Life Cycles.
