For my money, this is the best of Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster series. It is classic in every Wodehouse way. May I share?

"Even before the events occurred which I am about to relate, the above hamlet had come up high on my list of places to be steered sedulously clear of. I don't know if you have ever seen one of those old maps where they mark a spot with a cross and put 'Here be dragons' or 'Keep ye eye skinned for hippogriffs,' but I had always felt that some such kindly warning might well have been given to pedestrians and traffic with regard to this Steeple Bumpleigh."

There are some great names in this book too: Boko Fittleworth, Stilton Cheesewright, and J. Chichester Clam, to name only a few. The classic theme of Bertie trying desparately to get his friends engage and himself un-engaged dominates the book. All in all it's great fun.
