The book is about Lucius who blew up his arms in a explosion he did on purpose and now has hooks. He starts a new school and that is where he meets Aurora. It is also Aurora's first day and she is everything he is not - beautiful and instantly accepted.

The story line draws you in quickly. It is written in both Lucius and Aurora's views. The writing is beautiful and you really feel for Lucius and Aurora. The story being written in both views helps you really get to know both the main characters. It is meant to be a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I can see certain aspects of it in the beginning of the book.

The book was a short read at only 193 pages and I wish the ending was a little more detailed but that was only because I loved the book so much.
