This moving historical novel tells the story of a young country girl who becomes pregnant in 19th c. London and cannot care for herself or her baby. The Foundling Hospital accepts the infant and sends the mother on her way. In alternating chapters, the baby's story and the mother's show a picture of desperate times.

Rebecca I've been wanting to read this, glad to see you gave it a good review.

Darling Reviews I hope you realize you ruined this novel for the rest of us. Thanks!! Jeez. This is an intertwining story and you're not supposed to find the twist till the end of the story. While your reading it. Sorry to be blunt but jeez.

Rebecca I dunno, I haven't read this book but I completely guessed this was the ending from reading the publisher's description.
